EasyJet will launch flights to Cairo for the first time from London Luton this winter.

The three times a week service, starting on 31 October, will operate year-round.

Seats are now on sale.

EasyJet already offers flights from the UK to the Red Sea resorts of Sharm-el-Sheikh and Hurghada and claims to be the largest carrier from the UK to Egypt.

The new flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The airline has also added a twice-weekly service from London Southend to Alicante, starting on 29 October.
