EasyJet has again apologised to passengers – this time to those who’ve had flights cancelled today at short notice.

Latest reports say 14 flights to and from Gatwick have been cancelled today, with the Independent Travel Editor Simon Calder saying many passengers only found out in the early hours.

Some domestic routes, including Bristol and Edinburgh have also been affected.

Yesterday, easyJet cancelled more than 200 flights when the airline suffered a major IT problem. The cancellations affected 30,000 passengers, with some stranded abroad and others reporting they were on – or just about to board – the aircraft when they were told they were going nowhere.

Star Clippers Sales Manager Nicola Pearce was one of many caught up in the problems. She tweeted to say friends who were due to fly abroad to see her get married were told their flights had been cancelled.

EasyJet said: “Yesterday we operated almost 1,500 flights network wide. Around 200 were impacted by an IT systems issue which was rectified within a couple of hours.

“Today we plan to operate around 1,700 flights but unfortunately a small number have been impacted this morning.

“Customers have been notified and provided with options to rebook or receive a refund.

“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
