Peel Group, the owner of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, will make an announcement of the future of the base today.
It follows the offer on Friday of a financial lifeline from local leaders, who proposed using public money to keep the airport open for the next 13 months.
By the end of the 13 months, they hope a buyer will come forward.
Regional Mayor Oliver Coppard said Peel should accept the funding offer to ‘safeguard the future of DSA’ and Peel said it would consider the offer over the weekend.
Peel announced in July that DSA’s future was in doubt after Wizz Air pulled its programme from the regional airport.
Following pressure from politicians and the public, Peel extended its consultation period. New Prime Minister Liz Truss has backed the airport.
Peel’s conclusion of its review into the future of the site will be announced today.
