Passengers coming to the end of their cruise on Crystal Symphony were taken to their embarkation port of Miami by ferry after the ship diverted to avoid being impounded.

The ship headed to Bimini in the Bahamas on Saturday after the US Federal Court issued an arrest warrant over unpaid bills.

The ship, with 300 passengers and 400 crew on board, had been scheduled to return to Miami at the end of a 14-day Caribbean cruise.

Crystal Cruises parent Genting Hong Kong, filed to wind up the company last week.

Sister ship Crystal Serenity is sailing until 30 January.

After that, the ships’ itineraries have been put on hold until 29 April.
