A British woman has died after falling from a seven-floor balcony while on holiday in Turkey.

Jenna Smith, from Merseyside, had been on holiday in Turkey for three weeks and was due to return home next week.

Her family have been told by the Embassy of Turkey that she died after falling from a balcony on Sunday and they are awaiting more information.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to bring the 34-year-old care worker home and to help with funeral costs.

Meanwhile, a British man has reportedly been found dead on his sunbed in Crete on Saturday.

Rescuers performed CPR without any success and the 54-year-old was officially confirmed dead at hospital, according to local news service Creta Post.
