Travel franchise Not Just Travel saw a 53% increase in Black Friday sales compared to 2019, making it its best ever.
It said November was also its busiest November on record.
Booking values last Friday were 26% over Black Friday 2019, with the average booking worth £4,183, up from £3,311.
Not Just Travel co-founder Paul Harrison said 29 November, the day England played Wales in the FIFA World Cup, was also ‘phenomenal’, with sales nearly double those taken on a normal day.
“Normally, when there is a large sports event such as the FIFA World Cup, sales go to the floor but yesterday they went through the roof,” he said.
“We continue to buck the national trend as our sales are soaring, despite the nation tightening its belt in other areas. We’ve experienced the best August, September, October and November in our company’s history.”
