Some 77 generous travel agents have offered spare desks to travel reps who need a place to work while they’re on the road.

However, the organisers Graeme Brett and Jill Waite said more are needed to cover the whole of England, Scotland and Wales.

In particular, they need more desk spaces in London and Scotland, said Jill.

“The on the road teams do such a great job in supporting agents and are travelling hundreds of miles every week and we want to support them as much as we can,” she added. “If any other travel agent is able to offer space at their business please email us at [email protected].”

Graeme explained that business development managers and sales reps from tour operators are often on the road all day and have to use their cars as mobile offices to respond to emails and return calls to agents.

“Often there is poor wifi or phone signal and the weather conditions are not suitable to sitting in a car to work,” he said.

Agents are being asked to give up their spare desk or room to reps for 30 to 60 minutes at a time.
