Brittany Ferries is to use euros as its main on-board currency from next month.

The ferry operator said that, from 1 March, prices for all products and services on ships will be displayed in euros only.

Currently, a dual-pricing system operates, with prices listed in pounds sterling as well as euros.

“This means prices in the restaurant, our shops and at all other places where you pay for goods and services on board.,” the company said.

“It added: “The euro will become the main reference currency on board our ships.

“You can still pay in pound sterling if you wish, the total amount you pay will be calculated at the checkout.

“The pound sterling price will be calculated according to the daily exchange rate.”
