A British tourist has been arrested by Spanish police after two people were mowed down by a car in Magaluf.

It’s claimed that the 29-year-old man’s girlfriend got into a row with another woman in the street in early hours of Thursday morning.

The accused then began arguing with the other woman’s partner, left the scene, allegedly issuing threats, and returned in his hire car.

It is claimed that he drove onto the pavement numerous times, before finally running into two young people outside a fast-food outlet.

Both people were left lying on the ground and witnesses called the emergency services.

They were taken to hospital, but their injuries were not serious, according to the Majorca Daily Bulletin, which shared shocking footage of the incident online.

Police found the accused, who is alleged to have been drinking heavily and taken drugs, on Son Matias Beach after locating his car.
