British Airways will increase the frequency of its London to Bangkok service next January and has also expanded its codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways to include five more destinations.

The airline had previously announced its direct route from Gatwick to the Thai capital would return on 28 October 2024 and operate three times a week. From January to March 2025, this will increase to five times a week.

From October 2024, its expanded codeshare with Bangkok Airways, which currently covers flights from Singapore to Koh Samui, will include Phuket, Koh Samui and Chiang Mai in Thailand and Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia, enabling passengers from the UK to fly to their final destinations, via Bangkok, on one ticket.

Members of British Airways’ Executive Club, can collect Avios and earn Tier Points when flying on Bangkok Airways on a British Airways codeshare.

Chief Planning and Strategy Officer Neil Chernoff said: “In October, we will be operating our first direct flight to Thailand in more than four years, so it’s a highly anticipated return to our global network. Knowing that this route will be particularly popular with our leisure customers, we’re pleased to be working with Bangkok Airways to offer more choice and make these sought-after holiday destinations more accessible.”
