Bristol Airport was forced to close its runway this morning after heavy snowfall.

More than 20 flights were grounded until at least 11am.

Some arriving flights were diverted to Birmingham, while easyJet has cancelled several departures from Bristol Airport throughout the rest of today.

Passengers were told to contact their airlines for further updates.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across the South West of England until at least 9am on Thursday.

Gatwick Airport said it had suffered a few minor delays, but expects operations to return to normal this morning.
