Booking Holidays, owner of hotel booking platform, has been given the greenlight to buy eTraveli Group.

ETraveli owns several online travel agencies including MyTrip, GoToGate, FlightNetwork and SuperSaver.

The Competition and Mergers Authority launched an investigation into the €1.6bn acquisition in August amid fears it would reduce competition in the UK market.

However, the CMA today said it had cleared the deal. The full text of its decision will be published in due course.

Booking already owns several OTAs, including Kayak and Agoda, along with, Priceline and OpenTable, and last year it also bought Getaroom for $1.2bn.
