The first episode of the new series of the BBC’s popular TV show The Apprentice was filmed on Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady.

Episode One of Series 16 will air tonight at 9pm.

In its blurb announcing the new series, the BBC said: “Under the watchful eyes of Baroness Karren Brady and the winner of series 1, Tim Campbell, the candidates are thrown in at the deep end as they set sail from Portsmouth on board a luxury cruise ship.”

The first task for the 16 candidates, who are all vying for an investment from entrepreneur and host of the show Lord Sugar, is to come up with a marketing campaign for a new cruise liner.

They’ll have to create a brand and a TV advert.

The BBC said: “One team’s approach to design is far from plain sailing, while on the other team, discord during the advert filming leads to choppy waters.”

Both ‘end up with that sinking feeling’, said the Beeb.

This year’s 16 candidates include hotel front of house manager Brittany Carter, 25.
