Barrhead Travel is planning to go ‘all out’ for its January booking campaign after seeing record sales in January 2023.
Head of PR and communications Karen Musgrave told a gathering of industry professionals that the retailer would be pushing flexibility and low deposits.
While keeping precise details of the campaign under wraps, Karen told the ABTA Travel Trends conference: “We are going big.”
She said Barrhead had been ‘more tentative’ last January, but it achieved record bookings every week during the month. “We are going all out this year,” she added.
Karen said bookings had already picked up during its Black Friday campaign, with higher than Black Friday 2022.
She was speaking just hours after TUI released its first ever Christmas TV ad, which premiered during ITV’s Good Morning Britain on Tuesday.
TUI Chief Marketing Office Neil Swanson said: “We are trying to get people thinking about holidays early. Hopefully this will give us a boost.”
