Bali will introduce a tourist tax from Wednesday, which it says will be used to protect the island’s nature, culture and heritage and help support sustainable initiatives.

The 150,000 rupiah fee (about £8 per person) will apply to all foreign tourists.

Payment can be made online or on arrival at designated payment counters at Bali’s airport and seaport.

More information is available on the Bali Provincial Government website.
