A British Airways pilot has been sacked after allegedly snorting lines of cocaine off a topless woman while on a layover in Johannesburg.

The first officer had been due to fly back to London on the Johannesburg to Heathrow route last month, but when the airline became aware of the allegations, the flight was delayed overnight.

According to The Sun, pilot Mike Beaton from Devon told a cabin crew friend about the wild night of events during down time on the South African trip and the crew member alerted BA.

Beaton was suspended after the allegations were reported, flown home and given a drugs test on arrival back in the UK, where the matter was referred to the CAA.

A spokesperson for British Airways told Travel Gossip: “Safety is always our top priority. The matter was referred to the CAA and this individual no longer works for us.”
