British Airways has appointed a Director of Business Recovery to help ‘accelerate recovery’ following what the airline describes as ‘the most challenging period in its history’.

Calum Laming is currently Chief Customer Officer at Vueling and has previously held a variety of customer, brand, product and marketing roles at Virgin Atlantic, Air New Zealand and Etihad Airways.

In addition, acting Chief Commercial Officer Colm Lacy and Acting Director of Brand Customer Experience Tom Stevens, who both stepped up during the pandemic, have been confirmed in their positions.

BA has also appointed a new Chief People Officer, Michelle Lydon, who joins from outside aviation.

All four join BA’s management committee.
