ABTA has signed up Aviation Minister Mike Kane to give the keynote speech at its Travel Matters conference in December.

Travel Matters was rescheduled from earlier this year following the announcement of the General Election and is an opportunity for industry leaders to meet with, learn from and question senior policy makers.

This year, Travel Matters is themed ‘Travel in Turbulent Times’ and will be moderated by LBC presenter Tom Swarbrick.

Tom will chair a panel discussion exploring travel’s priorities for the Government, including how the travel industry can make sure it is heard by new ministers.

The panel will be made up of ABTA Director of Public Affairs Luke Petherbridge, TUI UK and Ireland Head of Public Policy Nathan Stower, Airlines UK Policy and Public Affairs Director Rob Griggs and Crestview Strategy Vice President Christine Quigley.

Also speaking at the event will be Intrepid General Manager UK & Ireland Hazel McGuire – who will set out what needs to be done to support the industry in moving towards decarbonisation – and journalist Sonia Sodha.

Travel Matters will take place in central London on Tuesday 3 December.
