The Government of the Canary Islands has warned the haze that affected the region last week is set to return.
A nine-day alert for an ‘extreme’ calima, at the beginning of this month, ended on Saturday.
However, authorities have warned the haze will return on Tuesday and Wednesday (13 and 14 February) and will particularly affect Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria.
The calima is a thick cloud or haze caused by dust blown over from the Sahara.
