Royal Caribbean has become the latest cruise line to ease its mask policy for passengers.

From 14 February, masks will no longer be obligatory in public areas onboard which have been designated for fully vaccinated passengers-only by the cruise line.

However, masks must still be worn in all other inside areas, except when seated and actively eating or drinking, and inside cabins.

In essence, Royal Caribbean has reverted to its pre-Omicron mask policy, where guests could go without a face covering in select venues including certain bars, dining areas and the onboard casino.

The change follows an announcement by Norwegian Cruise Line that masks will no longer be obligatory for passengers on US cruises from 1 March.
