Airlines have cancelled one in 69 flights from the UK so far this year, 31% more than during the same period last year.
Analyst Cirium Data said a total of 3,070 have been axed this year, which represents 1.45% of all scheduled departures.
By this time last year, only 2,340 flights had been cancelled.
However, the UK flight cancellation rate has fallen from 1.72% in 2022, when there were fewer scheduled flights than this year.
The number of cancellations this year is 39% up on 2019, the last ‘normal’ year for travel.
