Former easyJet employee Leo Jones, who found fame as one of the stars of the reality ITV programme Airline, has been given a five-year restraining order after stalking a GB News presenter.

Ellie Costello told a court yesterday that she had feared for her safety after Jones bombarded her with amorous messages.

Jones, who reinvented himself as a ‘travel expert’ during the pandemic, had appeared via a video link as a guest on Ms Costello’s TV show in August 2021.

He was interviewed by Ms Costello again in October that year, after which he suggested they should present a travel show together before later telling her: ‘I love seeing you in the morning X’, according to MailOnline.

When she didn’t respond, the 41-year-old father-of-two began sending her texts and emails, which only stopped briefly when Ms Costello told him they were ‘beyond inappropriate’. He even tried to visit her at her studio, sent her flowers, and approached her while she was broadcasting at the Queen’s funeral in Windsor.

He was given a six-month suspended jail sentence in addition to a five-year restraining order at St Albans Magistrates Court after pleading guilty to causing the presenter serious alarm, distress and mental anguish.

Jones had been one of the stars of Airline (pictured top left), a reality TV show that ran for eight years until 2006, which followed the lives of easyJet check-in staff at Gatwick Airport.

Recently, celebrity Rylan jokingly called Leo’s co-star Jane Boulton to return with her team to sort out easyJet’s problems over the summer.

Earlier this year, Jones told Travel Gossip he was working as a TUI UK Account Manager, and he has worked as a DJ for Travel.Radio, and also Charitable. Radio co-launched by travel industry veterans Melissa Tilling and Ali Nicholls, but the court heard that he is now a carer for his elderly father.
