ABTA will be taking part in the Travel Gossip Roadshow in Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Sheffield and Bolton this year.

The trade body said its participation is part of a wider programme of activity to get together with members in the nations and regions.

It said it will be doing more to get involved in activities where members are already meeting locally, by attending industry roadshows, events and networking.

ABTA has also changed the format of its regional meetings, replacing them with free, once-yearly networking events in Scoltand, Wales, Northern Ireland and each of the regions of England.

Head of Membership Danny Waine said: “Getting out and about – whether at Travel Gossip Roadshows, ABTA hosted events or other industry gatherings – is an important part of how we communicate and connect with members.

“We’re trying as much as possible to make our engagement with members two-way, doing this as we always have by being at the end of the phone or email for any business queries, but also through the activities we run and attend in the nations and regions.”

Details of the new programme are available online and dates for other activity will be added shortly.

The first ABTA-hosted event takes place in the East of England and the invitations will go to members soon.

ABTA also runs a monthly video conference call which is open to all members to attend and submit questions. Details of those can be found in the ABTA MemberZone.
