At least 10 people have died after a tour bus crashed in southern Egypt south of the ancient city of Luxor.

They were on their way to the Temple of Esna on the west bank of the Nile.

The accident happened on the road between the city of Aswan and the temples of Abu Simbel, a popular tourist attraction.

The bus collided with a truck and burst into flames, killing 10 people and injuring 14 more.

Four tourists from France, one Belgian and five Egyptians died. The injured are from France and Belgium.

Aswan Provincial Governor Ashraf Attia said the injured were in a stable condition.

The accident came five days after two Polish tourists died in a bus crash close to the Red Sea.
