Part of the San Francisco Bay Area, in Northern California’s celebrated wine country, Sonoma County is situated some 30 miles north of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge; bordered by Marin, Napa, Lake, and Mendocino Counties and the Pacific Ocean and the San Pablo Bay.
The destination has a mix of branded and luxury boutique hotels, resorts, bed-and-breakfasts, small inns, home stays, and campgrounds, as well as 500-plus restaurants featuring cuisine from every region of the world, ranging from casual to Michelin- and Zagat-rated eateries.
Sonoma is considered one of the homes of farm-to-table cuisine, and chefs in Wine Country use freshly harvested and locally grown produce.
With over 425 wineries and 19 American Viticultural Areas (AVA’s), Sonoma is the most diverse wine growing region in the United States, but with only 6% of land covered in vineyards, wine is only part of the experience.
There’s also 50miles of rugged coastline, unique communities, redwoods and some epic great outdoors, just waiting to be explored.
