May Square and the Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos Aires

Visit the square where everything began. The Plaza de Mayo is the oldest public square in Buenos Aires, and the scene of many of the most important events in the city’s history. Fabian will take you on a journey around the square, surrounded by beautiful buildings such as the Presidential Palace (the Casa Rosada – or Pink House) and the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral. Feel the vibes of the “porteños” as the locals are called; there may even be a demonstration to witness too!

On this tour you’ll learn about the oldest underground transport system in Latin America, understand why the cathedral is now known as “the Pope’s Church”, and see the famous balcony where Eva Peron (Evita) gave her famous speech in 1952.
